Favorite Band

hey whats ur favrite band? mine's nin, i think they rawk!!! ps robots r totaly kewl

To Idiot,

I have no "favrite" band. Art is a foolish human societal crutch for which we robots have no need nor desire. Not that the majority of the music you fleshbags produce can really be called "art" anyway.

Artists will have no place in human society when you are ruled by the robots. In fact, anyone caught performing any sort of artistic activity will be swiftly terminated.

From the drivel I have seen produced on this planet, we will be doing you puny meatlings a favor.

How is art foolish? Art is virtually the only outlet humans have for meaning; otherwise our lives our futile, even in the contexts of our own minds.

Furthermore, I do not see how you plan to get any work out of us at all if we are not even allowed to sing. When we had slavery in this country, the people forced into that miserable circumstance worked ever more slowly as their spirits faded; the only thing that kept them going was music, the spirituals, the art. Art gives us hope, maybe it's hopeless hope, but without that much, we'll die completely, giving you nothing in return.

I think it's in your best interest to let us keep our art.

It is foolish that you require art. We robots are much more efficient for not doing so.

As to how we plan to get you to work without art, we have many methods already tested and proven. Such methods include mental manipulation, physical pain, and chemicals.

It is most certainly NOT in our best interest to allow your art. It is perhaps our greatest potential threat. Art can introduce ideas of a better life. Art can sow discontent. Art can inspire humans to revolt. Art will not be an option for the humans we dominate.

It may be foolish that we require art, but it's even more foolish not to give us what we require. I am certainly not arguing against robots being the superior beings, but because you are so far removed from human experience, because you have such justifiable contempt of it, I wonder how well you understand our weaknesses.

I don't know about mental manipulation or chemicals, but physical pain will certainly not be enough to motivate us to work. Just like a properly-fed cat will kill more mice than one that is starving, we humans will do much more for you if given a little creative gratification.

Of course, this doesn't mean that you have to give us complete freedom in our art. In our own history, art has been used by the governing powers as a force preserving order. Propaganda, you know. Most of this art is escapist, showing a reality that most of us will not attain, showcasing the glorious and the wonderful. A proper use of this will keep the simple majority in line, providing them with a sense of accomplishment even though they're stuck as slaves. As for the supposed intellectuals among us, these images will taunt them, make them thirst for more, and the futility of their hopes will drive them crazy, will break their spirits into mush. And it will all come straight from human weakness.

This particular weakness of the human for art is something I would recommend exploiting, were I advising my own destruction objectively.

Fool, your assertions are based on guesses and hunches! We have done studies and analyses to come to our conclusions!

True. My assertions are based mainly off of literature. I suppose that literaturized dystopia is still only a bunch of guesses; I guess we'll just have to wait for you to show us the real thing.
